Do I have a Life Outside Law Practice?
When I am not lawyering, I spend time with my family. I believe and pray to Allah (Arabic for God). I read, ponder, meditate. I write on a range of topics related to my interest. I enjoy travelling and nature walks. I love rainy days. I am a martial arts and badminton enthusiast and I practice an ancient mind-energy based Chinese martial art called Tai Chi. Before starting law school, I had a brief stint of about a year as an Analyst at the Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).
Armed with an M.A in Economics, I performed undergraduate lecturer role for a number of years, first at the University of Waterloo, and then at the McMaster University. Last time I taught Economics at the university level was in 2014.
