Do I have a Life Outside Law Practice?
I spend meaningful time with my family. I believe and pray to Allah (Arabic for God) fervently. I read, ponder, meditate. I write on a range of topics related to my interest. I enjoy travelling, jogging and nature walks. I love rainy days, oh don't get me wrong - I mean when it actually rains in the nature. I am a martial arts and badminton enthusiast, and I practice an ancient mind-energy based Chinese martial art called Tai Chi.
Before starting law school, I had a brief stint of about a year as an Analyst at the Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).
With a fresh M.A in Economics, I performed undergraduate lecturer role for a number of years, first at the University of Waterloo, and then at the McMaster University. Last time I taught Economics at the university level was in 2014.
